Steele Venters, in addition to having a really cool name, is a talented 6-7 guard from Eastern Washington.

After the 2022-23 season, Venters entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal, and it seems we’ll be seeing him at a bigger school in 2023-24.

As you can see below, 19 schools have already shown interest in Venters. While many of them are located in the west, where Venters has played for Eastern Washington the past 4 years, a pair of SEC teams — Mizzou and Florida — are also reportedly among the teams to reach out:

Gonzaga, Butler, Creighton, USF, Colorado, Washington, UNLV, Santa Clara, Pepperdine, Colorado State, Loyola Marymount, Oregon, Washington State, USC, Stanford, Nebraska and Wisconsin are the other schools to reach out thus far, according to the above tweet. There are some heavy hitters in there, so we’ll see if Venters ends up in the SEC or elsewhere next season.

In 2022-23, Venters appeared in 34 games for Eastern Washington, starting all of them. He averaged 15.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest.
