Stephon Gilmore sealed the deal on a Minnesota Vikings win in Sunday’s contest against the New York Jets, picking off veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the final minute of the game.

Minnesota led 23-17 at that point, and the interception took away any chance the Jets had at a comeback effort.

Here’s a look the play on third down with 10 yards to go as New York was very much in scoring range with the ability to tie, if not win the game entirely deep in Jets territory.

Gilmore headed into this game with 14 total tackles (10 solo) and 1 pass defensed. He finished out this contest with 6 total tackles (5 solo), 1 interception and 2 passes defensed in what marked his best overall performance in 2024.

Back in his college days, Gilmore was a similar type of force for the Gamecocks, finishing his senior season back in 2011 with 41 combined tackles (31 solo), 1 sack and 3 interceptions.

How Gilmore continues to progress this season as a clutch part of the Minnesota secondary will be something to keep an eye on.

The Vikings will continue their schedule with their next matchup coming up against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, Oct. 20 at home at 1 p.m. ET. For now, they’ll have a chance to rest with a bye week.
