Alabama will see one of its primary commitments from the 2024 class undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, his father said on Monday.
Sterling Dixon is a 4-star recruit from Spanish Fork (Ala.). The No. 11 player in the state in the 2024 class according to 247Sports’ composite, he is considered a Top 15 EDGE recruit nationally.
However, his senior season has ended prematurely as he re-injured a shoulder that had given him problems in the past, his father Sterling Dixon Sr. told WKRG-TV’s Simone Eli. The injury occurred during Spanish Fork’s game against Theodore (Ala.) on Friday.
“We are trying to gather all the information so we can make the best decision moving forward,” Dixon Sr. told Eli.
Dixon has been committed to the Crimson Tide since Dec. 1. He is 1 of 11 defensive players currently pledged to Alabama out of the 2024 class and 1 of 9 players from within the state. The 2024 class currently ranks No. 4 in the country, according to 247Sports.
