Stetson Bennett is the new Georgia leader for passing yards in a single season. In the first quarter of Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship, Bennett broke the record set by Aaron Murray a decade ago.

Bennett entered Monday with 3,823 yards through 14 games of the 2022 campaign. In the first quarter, Bennett threw for 121 yards, including a 37-yard touchdown strike to a wide-open Ladd McConkey.

Murray threw for 3,893 yards in 2012, playing 14 games before the postseason was expanded with the College Football Playoff.

Bennett and the Dawgs are rolling, opening up a 24-7 lead in the second quarter.
