Stetson Bennett draws Heisman hype after impressive first half vs. South Carolina

It wasn’t long ago that Stetson Bennett was one of the more polarizing quarterbacks across college football, with some viewing him as a player who played a solid role in leading Georgia to a national title and others who saw him as more of a hindrance to the Bulldogs’ overall efforts than anything else.
Those of the latter crowd have gone silent with Bennett now planting his name in the Heisman Trophy conversation, as has become publicly discussed, with the possibility of him becoming an early-round draft pick no longer out of the picture either.
Bennett has put together a solid first-half effort against the South Carolina Gamecocks, completing 13-of-20 passes for 166 yards with one passing touchdown and two carries for 25 yards. He’s show a lot of year-over-year improvement as a passer and continues to be a force with the element of mobility he has always brought to the table.

If Bennett stays on the track he’s on, he will have gone from former walk-on to household name.
