Stetson Bennett IV is a hero in Athens, having led the Georgia Bulldogs to back-to-back national titles the past 2 seasons.
He was placed on the non-football injury list by the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 13 and it seems unlikely he’ll return to the team this season, but he was in Athens on Saturday to receive the Burlesworth Trophy.
As you can see below, he received quite the ovation from Dawg fans as he took the field for the brief ceremony:
Great to see this one smiling between the hedges.

Then he took some time out of his day to make several young Georgi fans happy, signing autographs for those in attendance:

The Burlesworth Trophy is awarded every year to a player who started his career as a walk-on. Bennett may have started his time at Georgia as a walk-on, but he ended it as a legend.
Now he’s receiving the love he’s earned in Athens, and the offense continues to hum along under new QB Carson Beck.
