Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns downed the Arkansas Razorbacks 20-10 on Saturday in a hard-fought game for both programs. The former Southwestern conference rivals kicked off their SEC rivalry with a defensive showdown.
Arkansas cut the lead to just 3 points in the 4th quarter, but Texas led a touchdown drive that ended with a Quinn Ewers touchdown pass to Matthew Golden, his 2nd of the day.
But the biggest emotional outburst from the sidelines did not come on that play. It came on 4th and 2 in the waning minutes, when Ewers sealed the game with a tough conversion on the ground. Sarkisian was fired up on the sidelines, high fiving assistants and players alike.

Soon after the game Sarkisian was asked about this outpouring of emotion. He highlighted the importance of taking in the moment after a game that the Longhorns had to go out and earn.
I asked Steve Sarkisian about the emotions demonstrated on the game-sealing conversion by Ewers: “Don’t let these moments go by without taking it in, because these are the moments that last a lifetime.” @ontexasfootball https://t.co/Xl05cO7O8n pic.twitter.com/LGIFsDgiyx

It’s hard not to understand where he’s coming from. The Longhorns are just 2 wins away from cementing a spot in the College Football Playoff, and 2 games away from the SEC Championship game as well.
Let’s see how the Longhorns fare against Kentucky and Texas A&M in the coming weeks.
