Steve Sarkisian explains why Texas has had success in road environments ahead of SECCG

Steve Sarkisian told reporters on Monday that the Longhorns’ upcoming matchup against Georgia for the SEC Championship is essentially a road game. And while in technicality it isn’t, Saturday’s crowd in Atlanta is likely to be 70-75% Bulldogs fans.
Sark’s comment comes after Texas’ best win of the season – a bruiser battle against Texas A&M and an electric Kyle Field that ended with Texas on top, 17-7. Thanks to that win, the Longhorns will face the Bulldogs for the SEC title.
Sarkisian knows the difficulty of playing on the road and also mentioned Monday that Georgia is the standard for college football across the past 8 years. Regardless, he feels his team can be successful Saturday because of how his team responds to opposition like the Bulldogs.
Sarkisian on why his team is so successful on the road:
“They kind of embrace and get fueled by the boo’s and the crowd noise on the road. When you’re on offense, you have to really focus, and sometimes that helps us focus even better.”@InsideTexas

It’s tough to beat a team twice, and Sarkisian also noted on Monday that Texas expects to fully open its playbook for Saturday. Georgia always locks in for games like this, but it’s hard not to head into this game thinking the Longhorns have the advantage. Especially with how poorly Georgia has played since beating Tennessee.
