Steve Sarkisian is reportedly interested in making a jump to the pro level. According to Senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini Saturday morning, representatives for the Texas Longhorns head coach have let NFL front offices know that Sarkisian has interest in multiple jobs, including the Tennessee Titans.

Sarkisian took the Longhorns to the Final Four of the College Football Playoff last season and won 25 games across the past 2 seasons heading into 2025-26. However, the Longhorns have taken a bit of a step back to start this season; Texas sits at 5-2 on the year with losses to Ohio State and Florida, but still remains a contender for the College Football Playoff with zero room for error.

Of course, nothing is set in stone yet, but if this move were to be made by Sarkisian, it would cement what has already been a wild season for CFB coaching turnover. James Franklin, Billy Napier and Sam Pittman have all been fired, and while Sarkisian is in no perceived danger there, the Texas job potentially being open will affect a lot of decisions.

Russini specifically mentioned the Titans in her report, which is interesting and an intriguing prospect for the next college-to-NFL jump. Tennessee fired head coach Brian Callahan after a year and a half of truly terrible football in Nashville.

For now, this is nothing but a report. As mentioned above, Texas is still alive for a spot in the College Football Playoff, and the Longhorns look to improve their odds Saturday against Mississippi State.
