The Early Signing Period is full of surprises, and Tennessee got a good one on Wednesday evening.

A talented 3-star defensive end out of the JUCO ranks announced he was committing to the Tennessee program.

As you can see below, Georgia Military College defender Byron Young took to Twitter to announce his pledge to Jeremy Pruitt’s program:

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Young is the No. 2 weak-side JUCO defensive end in the class of 2021 and the No. 1 JUCO prospect from the state of South Carolina.

The Vols now have 22 players in their 2021 recruiting class. Prior to Young’s commitment, the class was rated No. 15 in the nation and No. 6 in the SEC, per 247Sports.
