Syracuse trolls Clemson after 34-21 upset win

Syracuse entered Saturday’s road game at Clemson as a major betting underdog. In the end, the Orange walked out of Death Valley with a convincing 34-21 victory on the road.

The Orange were in complete control of the game, and they didn’t let a weather delay hurt the team or halt the momentum. Even while losing starting quarterback Steve Angeli, Syracuse never trailed.

Once the result went final, Syracuse took to social media to troll the Tigers.

Clemson is known for having one of the best pregame introductions in all of college football, exiting a bus and running down The Hill and out onto the field. The Orange’s social media team cooked up a graphic that showed Clemson running back up The Hill while the Syracuse mascot held up a sign that read, “Start the busses.”

The Orange came out and threw the first punch, as quarterback Steve Angelli connected with Justin Ross-Simmons on a 12-yard pass to put the team up 7-0 just four minutes in.

One negative for Syracuse was that Angelli left later in the game with a non-contact injury, and he was on crutches after the game.

Syracuse head coach Fran Brown has done a fantastic job since he became the Syracuse coach. He led the team to 10 wins last year with a huge win against Miami late in the season that prevented the Hurricanes from making the College Football Playoff.

If Angelli is out, former LSU quarterback Rickie Collins will be the guy. He finished 3-of-8 against Clemson, throwing for 34 yards and one touchdown. The Orange will be back in action next week against Duke.
