The Delray Beach native was a standout safety at Atlantic High School. Listed at 6-foot-3, 176 pounds, Derac racked up 58 tackles, 15 pass breakups and nine INTs in 2017. He was rated a 3-star prospect and had offers from Iowa State, Syracuse, USF and Western Michigan, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
