Nick Saban and Alabama are on fire on a National Signing Day.
After receiving commitments from 5-star CB Patrick Surtain, Jr. and 3-star CB Eddie Smith, the Tide also picked up a commitment from 3-star ILB Jaylen Moody. Moody, from Conway, South Carolina, committed to Alabama over offers from Clemson, Arkansas and Ole Miss, among others.
Moody is ranked as the nation’s No. 49 ILB and the state’s No. 23 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. With the addition of Moody, Alabama is firmly sitting with the No. 4 recruiting class in the country and not done yet.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect will be a solid addition to Alabama’s linebacking corps, and new assistant Pete Golding is listed as his primary recruiter.
“It’s just … damn. It’s a big-hitting team, I love contact and playing defense and that’s their main thing,” Moody told BamaOnLine recently. “That’s the first thing that comes to my mind with Alabama. Good football, good defense, and the atmosphere and culture.”
