Talented South Florida DE/OLB Andrew Chatfield commits to Florida

One-time Ohio State commitment Andrew Chatfield committed to the Florida Gators Wednesday.
The Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, prospect committed to the Gators over Miami and Oklahoma, among others. Chatfield, listed at 6-foot-2, 221 pounds, is rated a 4-star prospect and ranked as the nation’s No. 13 WDE and the state of Florida’s No. 38 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Chatfield’s commitment to Florida over Miami is huge for Dan Mullen and his staff. He could wind up playing DE or OLB in Todd Grantham’s defense, and he fills a big position of need.
Florida will look to close strong on National Signing Day, as Chatfield is a big early commitment. He became the Gators first DE commit/signee for the class of 2018.
A graduate of the University of Florida and founder of Saturday Down South, Kevin is a college football enthusiast.
