Tank Bigsby is one of the best running backs in the entire SEC. But, he had the opportunity to leave Auburn after the 2021 season, when he entered the NCAA transfer portal.
He ultimately decided to return to Auburn, giving the Tigers a dynamic 1-2 punch in the backfield with Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter.
So, what sparked his decision to return to The Plains? At SEC Media Days in Atlanta on Thursday, Bigsby explained that he felt like Auburn was just a different place:
Tank Bigsby on his decision to stick with Auburn after last season: "I just felt like this school is different… I want to change, and I want to do the things I need to do for Auburn… You have to be a different man to be in this program, because a lot of people don't like us."

Bigsby had a stellar 2021 season, running for 1,099 yards and 10 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Hunter put up 593 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Can Bigsby finish off his Auburn career with another strong outing? He’ll be working behind a new quarterback in either Zach Calzada or TJ Finley, so we’ll see what sort of offense the Tigers have this fall.
