The Tennessee Volunteers announced on Tuesday that defensive back De’Shawn Rucker (Godby/Tallahassee, Fla.) has signed with the program. He is the 18th player in the class of 2021 to ink a letter of intent.

Although the Early Signing Period ended on Thursday, the signing of Rucker was not officially announced until Tuesday, which happens to be his birthday.

A 3-star prospect, Rucker is ranked as the No. 31 safety in the country. He committed to the Vols back in May.

Jeremy Pruitt’s 2021 recruiting class is ranked as No. 15 in the country and No. 6 in the SEC by 247Sports. Four players remain unsigned, including a pair of 4-star recruits in defensive end Dylan Brooks and wide receiver Jordan Mosley and 2 3-star recruits in athlete Roc Taylor and offensive tackle Colby Smith.
