We hear about flips in recruiting all the time. In general, college football recruiting refers to the process of signing athletes out of high school, but the most significant recruit of the Jeremy Pruitt era might be his newest staffer, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney.

UT made it official Wednesday that Chaney, who was at Georgia the past three seasons, is the new offensive coordinator of the Volunteers. Tight ends coach Brian Niedermeyer could not help but rib Chaney’s former employer when tweeting about the hire.

TSDS is presumably short for “the school down south” as Athens is south of Knoxville.

Chaney’s move and the Tennessee reaction certainly adds some fun to the rivalry. The Dawgs and Volunteers meet Oct. 5 in Knoxville.
