Clemson and Tennessee faced off in the NCAA Regional. The game was very competitive and went to 14 innings as the Vols won 6-5.
Clemson did not make it out of its own regional, losing to Charlotte 3-2 on Jun. 4.
Tennessee has been busy in the transfer portal this offseason. Amick is now the latest transfer commit along with recent additions like Ryan Galanie, pitcher Nate Snead, pitcher A.J. Causey, and catcher Cannon Peebles.
The Volunteers advanced to the College World Series where they faced LSU and Stanford. Tennessee lost its first game against LSU before bouncing back with a 6-4 win over the Cardinal.
LSU ended Tennessee’s season with a 5-0 shutout.
The expectations will be high for Tennessee after making a solid run in the postseason. The Volunteers have made it to the College World Series twice in the last three seasons (2021, 2023).
Tony Vitello is retooling his offense with the addition of a bat like Amick’s.
