Tennessee basketball lands transfer commitment from veteran scorer out of Indiana State

Tennessee basketball is looking to bounce back and reload after an early NCAA Tournament exit this season. On Saturday, the Volunteers picked up a transfer commitment from a veteran scorer out of Indiana State, and he just happens to be a native of Tennessee.
The player is Tyreke Key, a 4-year player at Indiana State with 114 games played (97 starts) in his college career. A native of Celina, Tennessee, Key shared his commitment with a “Home sweet home” caption on Twitter.

A 6-foot-3 guard, Key was a 3-time All-Missouri Valley Conference nomination. During the 2021-22 season, Key averaged 17.2 points per game with 5.3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 47% from the field.
For his career, Key has averaged 14.5 points per game, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists and shoots 80% from the free-throw line, and is a career 37% shooter from the 3-point line. He should be a very nice addition to Rick Barnes and the Volunteers for the upcoming season.
