Tennessee basketball released the entirety of its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season Monday afternoon.
The Vols are certainly not shying away from quality competition, either. Tennessee has multiple Q1 opportunities early, including already reported matchups against Wisconsin, Illinois, North Carolina and the Maui Invitational field that includes UCLA, Purdue, Marquette, Kansas and Gonzaga. The Vols will play up to 3 of those heading to Maui.
In addition to those matchups, the Vols announced a few mid-major matchups against George Mason, Tarleton State, Georgia Southern, Norfolk State, Tennessee Tech and Wofford.

The Vols are going to be tested early. Wisconsin, North Carolina and likely 2 or 3 of those teams mentioned at Maui await Tennessee before December. And that’s before taking on an SEC schedule that has the Vols travelling to play Alabama, Arkansas, Texas A&M and Kentucky, among others.
