University of Tennessee Chancellor Jimmy Cheek addressed Butch Jones’ alleged altercation with offensive lineman Mack Crowder on Thursday, dispelling the situation as false.
Cheek’s official statement:
There’s been a lot of rumor and misinformation on social media and message boards about an alleged incident during football practice. It’s not our practice to respond to rumors, but I thought it was important to let you know that we’ve done our due diligence and Dave Hart and I are very confident there was no inappropriate conduct with any players or coaches.

Earlier this week, Gridiron Now reported that there was video of the alleged incident that reportedly happened during practice.
Crowder published a series of tweets Thursday indicating he was a ‘Vol For Life’, backing the coaching staff. Crowder’s father had no comment when asked earlier this week about Jones’ alleged altercation with his son:
