Tennessee chancellor provides update on status of Butch Jones photo on Neyland jumbotron

This will come as no surprise, but Tennessee fans are happy to be moving on from the Butch Jones era in Knoxville.
While Jones did produce back-to-back nine-win seasons from 2015-16, the Volunteers ultimately never lived up to expectations during his tenure. 2017 was an especially low point for the program as the team went 4-8 while failing to record a win in the SEC.
Jones was fired mid-season with Jeremy Pruitt eventually landing the head coaching job, but fans remain upset that Jones’ picture can still be seen around Neyland Stadium. One particular point of contention is the fact that Jones’ picture can still be seen on the large Neyland Stadium jumbotron.
One Vols fan on Twitter even decided to tweet at UT Chancellor Beverly Davenport and AD Phillip Fulmer with a New Year’s resolution request:

To Davenport’s credit, she responded. She asked for the original tweeter to hang on and informed them that a crane has been ordered:
Please hang on. A crane has been ordered.

For reference, here is a look at the sign from November from @MarkNagi on Twitter:
Vols fans will have to wait just a bit longer for Jones’ image to come down, but fans can at least rest in the fact that Pruitt is now head coach.
