Tennessee coaches name their Players of the Week following upset win at Auburn
There were many Tennessee players deserving of praise for their 30-24 upset win at then-No. 21 Auburn last Saturday, but the Volunteers coaching staff was able to narrow it down to four guys they thought were most deserving of recognition.
Receiver Jauan Jennings, defensive lineman Kyle Phillips, kicker Brent Cimaglia and special-teamer Austin Pope earned Players of the Week honors, the team revealed in a tweet Monday.

Jennings hauled in five catches for 71 yards, but his most important play was the touchdown grab he made on third and 10 late in the third quarter that gave Tennessee its first lead of the day. On the following drive, Phillips participated in a strip-sack that the Vols returned for a touchdown to go up 27-17. The senior defensive lineman added that game-changing play to his team-high nine total tackles.
Two of Cimaglia’s three made field goals were longer than 40 yards. Though Auburn blocked his fourth attempt. the sophomore kicker shared Special Teams Player of the Week recognition with classmate Austin Pope.
