No. 3 Tennessee looks to be on track to cruise to 7-0 Saturday against FCS opponent UT Martin. One aspect of the Vols’ Week 8 performance, though, drew some social media criticism.

Fans were not impressed by the Vol defense. UT Martin had an 8-play, 75-yard drive in the first quarter to make it 7-7 at the 9:05 mark in the first quarter. After Tennessee made it 14-7, the Skyhawks were driving again until walk-on DB William Wright recorded an interception at the Volunteers’ 23-yard line.

Here’s a sample of what fans said on social media:

The Vols, notably down multiple defensive starters, appear to have tightened up on defense, logging a 3-and-out after making it 21-7 to end the 1st quarter. The game, in the second quarter, is airing on the SEC Network.
