Matt Corral appeared to have the Ole Miss offense humming. Until a botched play-action play turned into a near-fumble, and a turnover on downs. It appeared to thousands of Tennessee fans in Neyland Stadium to be a scoop ‘n score touchdown by the defense.

The play happened at the Tennessee 45-yard line midway through the first quarter when Corral faked a hand off to a running back, then stood with the ball, and was swallowed by 2 Tennessee defenders as Matthew Butler was credited with a sack of 5 yards.

The fourth down and 3 play looked to be a fumble recovery and touchdown by Tyler Baron, who scampered into the checkerboard end zone. However, the play was ruled a sack, and Tennessee’s touchdown called off.

Ole Miss then forced Tennessee to punt after 3 plays and 1 yard gained. Then the Rebels got the ball back inside their own 5-yard line.
