Tennessee has done a great job of building the 2025 recruiting class under Josh Heupel. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, the Vols have the No. 8 class in the country for 2025.

On Thursday night, the Vols added another talented prospect. Brenden Anes, a 3-star linebacker, announced his decision to de-commit from Wisconsin and commit to Tennessee.

Anes is rated as the No. 61 LB in the class and the No. 20 prospect out of Tennessee. The prospect had been committed to the Badgers since January 2024.

The LB stars for Fred J. Page High School in Franklin, TN. Before committing to Wisconsin, Anes had interest from Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest, among others.

Anes visited Knoxville for the Florida game, and it appears the atmosphere made an impact on the young prospect. The addition of Anes helps fill the inside linebacker need for the Vols. Jaedon Harmon and Christian Gass are other LBs committed to the Vols in the 2025 class.

Getting in-state talent to stay in Knoxville has been a priority for Heupel. George MacIntyre, Nic Moore, Ethan Utley, and Radarious Jackson are other in-state talents who have committed to the Vols for 2025.

“Another thing is being able to play for my home state. That’s a pretty big deal for me, being able to see my family at all of my games. That definitely goes into it, as well,” explained Anes.

Anes mentioned the craziness of the Tennessee crowd as another contributing factor to his decision. Check out Anes’ highlight reel below:
