The Tennessee football team got off to an epic start to the 2022 season on Thursday night against Ball State.

Ball State won the toss and elected to receive. Well, the Cardinals ran a double reverse flea flicker on the very first play, and Tennessee defensive back Tamarion McDonald picked it off.

On the very next play — Tennessee’s first offensive play, Hendon Hooker hit Jalin Hyatt on a wheel route to score the very first offensive play of the season.

Yes, that’s an INT and a touchdown just 23 seconds into the season. Could things have gone better? The Vols come out firing in Neyland Stadium.
