Tennessee HC Josh Heupel talks about what it will take to down No. 17 Pitt
Tennessee has a big opportunity to make a statement Saturday, as it heads to Pittsburgh to face the No. 17 Panthers.
The Volunteers are ranked 24th in this week’s AP poll, and despite being the lower-ranked team and on the road, Tennessee is currently a 6-point favorite.
Tennessee coach Josh Heupel isn’t interested, however, in what those outside of his program think about the Vols when it comes to things like rankings and point spreads.
His focus is on preparation and making sure his players understand what it takes to win a game of this magnitude, which he believes they do.
“They understand the fight it’s going to take for 60 minutes to win this game,” Heupel said. “The more mature your team is, the more consistent they are with their preparation.”
