With football season just around the corner, anticipation for high school Fridays, college Saturdays and NFL Sundays is reaching a fever pitch. For two Tennessee high schools, that anticipation reached another level this week as they are set to be featured on ESPN2 this fall.

ESPN has announced the lineup for the 2019 GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase series and have included Knoxville Catholic and Brentwood Academy to the list. Knoxville Catholic is set to travel to Brentwood Academy on Thursday, Oct. 3.

This game should be of interest to Tennessee fans in particular as Volunteer target Tyler Baron, Volunteer commit Cooper Mays and Clemson commit Bryn Tucker all play for Knoxville Catholic. In addition to those big names, Brentwood Academy linebacker Devyn Curtis is a name that’s on some SEC radars.

Brentwood Academy has claimed the last four 2A/3A DII state titles while Knoxville Catholic was a 5A semifinalist last season.
