Tennessee basketball announced Tuesday that it has scheduled a home-and-home series against B1G powerhouse Illinois. A battle of the orange, if you will.
The Vols and Illini will face off first in Thompson-Boling Arena on Dec. 9, 2023 before travelling to Champaign on Dec. 14, 2024.
Tennessee currently owns a 2-1 record all-time against the Illini, though Illinois won the last visit between the 2 teams, which took place in 1988.

Rick Barnes also owns a 2-1 record over Illinois from his days at Texas, Clemson and Providence.
The Vols are a strong 9-1 on the season with wins over Maryland and Kansas while Illinois sits at 7-3. The Fighting Illini have beaten the likes of UCLA and Texas, losing to Maryland, Penn State and Virginia.
The 2 are sure to be top 25 teams when they face next season. This should be a pair of quality college basketball games.
