Tennessee lands DB help as cornerback Warren Burrell pledges to Vols over Florida
Tennessee has finally landed a cornerback in the 2019 recruiting cycle and the Volunteers have to be extremely happy about it as Suwanne, Ga., native Warren Burrell has chosen the Volunteers over finalists Florida and N.C. State.
While he’s Tennessee’s first cornerback commit for the 2019 recruiting cycle, he won’t be the last as it is a huge position of need for the Volunteers for the current recruiting cycle. Last season, as a high school junior, Burrell registered seven interceptions, 11 passes defended and 61 tackles.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Burrell rates as a three-star prospect, the No. 44 cornerback in the nation and the No. 481 overall prospect in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. While his star ranking may not wow some fans, his offer list should as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, USC and Wisconsin have all extended scholarship offers to the Peach State native.
Burrell made his decision public with the following message on Twitter:

The Volunteers now hold commitments from 16 prospects for the 2019 recruiting cycle following Burrell’s pledge. Following this addition, Tennessee’s 2019 class jump up to the No. 14 spot in the nation team recruiting rankings.
