Known for leaving no stone unturned, the Tennessee coaching staff look to have gotten off to an excellent start to the 2019 recruiting class by landing a commitment from one of the state’s top prospects Tuesday evening, as receiver Kendrell Scurry of Thompson Station, Tenn., pledged to the Vols:

Tennessee was only the second school to offer the rising 6-foot-3, 185-pound Scurry a scholarship after only playing one season of high school football. Scurry is rated as a four-star prospect by Scout and the nation’s No. 88 overall sophomore prospect. The receiver has yet to be evaluated by any other recruiting services at this time.
According to 247Sports’ recruiting analyst Barton Simmons, Scurry is likely to see his name among 247’s Top 100 prospects when the 2019 national rankings are officially released.
