Tennessee will be without one of its offensive starters in the Music City Bowl against Purdue.

Josh Heupel announced that right tackle Cade Mays won’t play and won’t be available for the game due to an ankle injury. Mays traveled with the team to Nashville; however, the ankle injury is still limiting him.

“Cade will not be able to play in this football game,” Heupel said during the Music City Bowl coaches press conference.

Mays was injured during the last 2 games of the regular season, but the hope was that he could play in the bowl game. Now, Jeremiah Crawford and Dayne Davis will step in for Mays at right tackle.
