Tennessee OL Jerome Carvin comments on headbutting helmet-less teammate following Tennessee TD vs. Kentucky

Tennessee offensive lineman Jerome Carvin was hyped up after he blocked for a 1-yard touchdown rush by Jaylen Wright against Kentucky in the team’s 44-6 rout of the Wildcats. So much so that he headbutted his helmet-less teammate and fellow offensive lineman Gerald Mincey.
But that was far from intentional.
“It’s an emotional game, and touchdowns are so exciting,” Carvin said. “I saw Mincey on the sideline and got really excited, and I did not know he didn’t have a helmet on. I feel so bad about it.”

It’s easy to see why there’s excitement around Knoxville, and rightfully so as the team ascended to No. 2 in the rankings following the victory over Kentucky. The Vols will have a chance to stake their claim to the No. 1 spot in the rankings if they can get a win over Georgia on Saturday.
