For most people, breaking a bone in your ankle would require a long recovery process.
Tennessee senior DB Cam Sutton is not most people. After breaking his ankle in a win against Ohio earlier this season, many felt his Vols career was over.
However, Sutton’s teammates had a feeling he’d return, according to the Times Free Press:
“Whenever I texted Cam or called him after that happened,” fellow senior corner Malik Foreman said, “he was like, ‘Bro, I’m going to be back. I don’t know how, but some way I’m going to be back.’
“He was in the training room from when he could go in to when he had to leave. I never doubted Cam one bit. I knew he’d be back out there with us.”
Now, with two games left in the season, the Vols will need Sutton to lead the secondary if they’re going to have a chance to win the SEC East.
Sutton will be tasked with guarding the SEC’s second-leading receiver when the Vols host Mizzou and WR J’Mon Moore. The game kicks off at 2:30 p.m. Central time and can be seen on CBS.
