Tennessee, like the rest of college football, entered Wednesday looking to sign a great high school class for 2025. The Volunteers have added a ton of quality prospects already, including one key flip from USC.

Jadon Perlotte, a 4-star linebacker, has flipped from his USC commitment and signed with  Tennessee.

“Home sweet home!” said the team’s announcement. “Ready for action.”

According to the 247Sports Composite ranking, Perlotte is the No. 30 LB in the 2025 class and the No. 40 player out of Georgia. The defender stars for Buford High School in Buford, Georgia.

Perlotte had been committed to USC since July. The LB went on an official visit to Knoxville in June and then returned on an unofficial visit in November. Before making his final decision, Perlotte also visited Miami, Auburn, Alabama, and others. On the first day of the Early Signing Period, however, Perlotte made his decision official and will now be a Volunteer.

As a junior in 2023, Perlotte racked up 55 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 1 interception. In 2024, the LB helped his Buford Wolves collect a 12-1 record and earn the No. 2 ranking in Georgia. Perlotte received a roster spot in the Polynesian Bowl and the Navy All-American Bowl.

Perlotte now joins a Tennessee recruiting class for 2025 that is currently ranked No. 10 in the country. In addition to Perlotte, the class is highlighted by 1 5-star and 14 4-star prospects. USC’s class, meanwhile, currently sits at No. 13.

The Early Signing Period will wrap up on Friday and the transfer portal will open on Dec. 9.
