Tennessee football fans have learned a lot about the program during the Jeremy Pruitt era across the past few weeks and days.
Pruitt’s staff was found to have violated multiple NCAA rules across his tenure as head coach and a ruling was officially levied against the program in recent weeks. Because Tennessee complied with the situation it was able to avoid a bowl ban for the current administration under Josh Heupel.
Sometimes, the violations under Pruitt could be labeled as “ridiculous.” On Tuesday, Outkick writer Trey Wallace reported that Tennessee staff members gave prospects code phrases to grant them free parking on campus.
No, seriously. Check some of the reported codes out below:
Tennessee recruiting staff members who were punished for NCAA infractions had code names for recruits to use for the parking lot for free.
“Bring Down BYU”
“Noon at Neyland”
“You know why I’m here”
“No Cowbells in Neyland”
“Black Hawk Down”
“The Vol Navy Don’t Need No Anchor”— Trey Wallace (@TreyWallace_) July 18, 2023
Don’t hear that one every day.
