Tennessee will reportedly host one of the top defensive line prospects in the 2025 class later this season.

According to a report from On3’s Chad Simmons, Durham (N.C.) Southern defensive lineman Isaiah Campbell has decommitted from Clemson and plans to take official visits to Tennessee and North Carolina. “At this time, I am continuing to build relationships with schools that share my values and goals,” Campbell said in a statement, per Simmons. The Volunteers and Tar Heels are expected to be the primary contenders for his commitment going forward.

Per Simmons, Campbell will make his official visit to Knoxville on Oct. 18. That weekend, Tennessee hosts Alabama in what could be a top-10 showdown with SEC title implications and College Football Playoff stakes.

If the Vols win in Norman on Saturday and take an unbeaten record into that game, ESPN’s College GameDay could be in town.

It very well could become one of the biggest weekends in recent Vol history. Tennessee has to handle business to get there, though.

Campbell is a huge prospect for UT. He’s a 4-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite and ranked as the No. 4 defensive lineman in the class. He’s the No. 2 recruit from the state of North Carolina and sits at No. 40 overall in the player rankings.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound lineman produced 110 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in 12 games for Southern as a junior. He also competes in track and field.

Campbell committed to Clemson in January. Exiting the class will leave the Tigers with 13 known commitments.
