Tennessee is planning on paying homage to the 1998 National Championship team on Saturday.
Tee Martin talked about how special it was to be a part of the team that went all the way. The Volunteers beat Florida State in the game under the guidance of head coach Phillip Fulmer.
There was a video posted of Fulmer giving a locker room pep talk during that season.

Martin played quarterback for that team and talked about how Tennessee had its backs against the wall.
“We really had our backs against the wall. We lost a lot of great players the year before at a lot of different positions. We all had a challenge that we had to step up to. To a man, we just said be responsible and do your job. Do your job every day and do it as best as you could and collectively we could be a good team. Did we know that we would be undefeated? No. Week in and week out we kept winning and we looked up and we were champions.”
Thanks to incredible leadership, including that displayed by the heart and soul of the team, linebacker Al WIlson as well as the guidance of quarterback Tee Martin, the ’98 Vols were able to overcome all obstacles and win the 1st ever BCS National Championship @wvlt @coachtee17 pic.twitter.com/00YbIDY2Jf
