Tennessee took a punch to the face to start out its top 25 matchup against Pitt at Acrisure Stadium.
But after a few rough possessions, the Vols started to regroup. The Vols found the end zone by way of Jabari Small.
A few possessions later, quarterback Hendon Hooker found Bru McCoy for his first touchdown reception as a Vol after transferring from USC. The former 5-star prospect was wide open.

Tennessee wasn’t done. After a strong defensive stand spearheaded by Georgia Tech transfer Wesley Walker’s sack on fourth down, the Vols struck again and took the lead.
Just after the turnover on downs, Hooker hit Cedric Tillman deep to put put the ball on the 1-yard line. Small finished the job.
BOMB?
Vol QB Hendon Hooker drops this one in the bucket to Cedric Tillman and then Jabari Small punched it in on the next play?

And Tennessee wasn’t done. The Vols recorded a sack-fumble by way of Tyler Baron and made the Panthers pay with a field goal as time expired. Tennessee leads Pitt at the half, 24-17.
