Kirkland announced last week that he’d planned to announce his college decision on Jan. 3 during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound linebacker decommitted from Michigan on Nov. 6 and took an official visit to Tennessee’s campus on Nov. 22.
Kirkland ranks as the No. 4 inside linebacker and the No. 177 overall player in the 2015 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Tennessee has received 51 percent of the 247 crystal ball predictions to earn the blue chip prospect’s commitment.
Kirkland’s final four schools include Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oklahoma and Texas.
