WATCH: Tennessee players leaning on Rick Barnes’ experience heading into their first Sweet 16

In some circles, Rick Barnes has a reputation for not often advancing in the NCAA Tournament but his players aren’t buying into that talk as they prepare for the first Sweet 16 game of their careers.

Tennessee is talking on Purdue in Louisville for the right to advance to the Elite Eight and while not a single Volunteer has ever advanced this far in the NCAA Tournament, Barnes has made this round seven times now at three different schools.

In the video below, Barnes’ Tennessee players share their level of trust in the program’s veteran coach and their faith in his process in order to continue to live on in the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee enters the game against Purdue as a slight favorite with the Thursday night game quickly approaching.
