Saturday’s result is not what Tennessee was hoping for, falling in the Round of 32 with an upset loss to 11-seed Michigan. The real bright spot in that game was Kennedy Chandler who led the Volunteers with 19 points and 9 assists.

Now with his season wrapped up, Chandler will face a decision in the offseason. For now, Chandler doesn’t have an answer on what his plans will be, and that comes from Josiah-Jordan James.

When Chandler was asked about his plans, James stepped in and had a word. According to James, that’s something Chandler was not going to answer Saturday.

Chandler came to Knoxville as a 5-star prospect via the class of 2021 and instantly shined. He was an All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman while averaging 13.8 points, 4.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals for the Volunteers.

Head coach Rick Barnes also discussed Chandler’s growth throughout his freshman season. Barnes also said Chandler did not walk in “as a one-and-done” type of player. Of course, that’s liable to change due to Chandler’s potentially rising draft stock.
