Terry Wilson puts together his best half of the season, guides Kentucky to halftime lead over Vandy
Coming off a bye week, Kentucky’s offense is unrecognizable from the unit we saw entering the idle week in Lexington.
In the two games leading up to Kentucky’s bye week, the Wildcats managed just 13 total points against Missouri and Georgia. Wilson was banged up against the Tigers and was eventually replaced in the lineup by backup quarterback Joey Gatewood.
Gatewood started the Georgia game and Wilson failed to see the field in Kentucky’s loss to the Bulldogs.
Whatever Kentucky did during the bye week it worked, as Wilson returned to the lineup Saturday and has put together a nearly flawless performance in the first half against Vanderbilt as the Wildcats hold a 24-14 edge over the Commodores at halftime.
Wilson has completed 12 of his 13 pass attempts for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Here is a video of Wilson’s first touchdown pass of the game, which was hauled in by Justin Rigg.

In addition to his strong performance through the air, Wilson has added 70 yards on the ground on just six attempts. Wilson’s 70 yards on the ground leads the team at the break.
Wilson’s longest attempt was a 32-yard touchdown scramble.

If this Wilson shows up the rest of the season, who knows, Kentucky could prove to be a spoiler during the stretch run of the season.
