Morris made headlines in 2023 when he stepped away from NC State midseason to redshirt so he could preserve his eligibility before entering the transfer portal as a sophomore.
After 2 seasons at NC State, Morris landed at Maryland. He spent 1 season at Maryland before entering the transfer portal again. Morris played for Coastal Carolina last season.
Over 4 seasons, Morris has appeared in 20 games. He has completed 58.1% of his passes for 2,021 yards with 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The ’23 season at NC State was his most productive as he threw for 719 yards and 7 touchdowns with 5 interceptions.
Arch Manning is back as Texas‘s QB1 in 2026. Morris, though, gives Steve Sarkisian’s team an experienced option off the bench when needed.
