It’s not often you see a legitimate Power 5 prospect with several scholarship offers walk-on to another program, but that’s exactly what happened with the recruitment of Texas native Cee Jay Jones. Jones has passed up offers from Vanderbilt, Arizona State, Duke, Illinois, and SMU to join the Aggies 2017 recruiting class.

Jones posted this message on Twitter Wednesday, announcing his decision:

The 5-foot-9, 170-pound Jones rates as the nation’s No. 27 all-purpose back and the No. 163 prospect from the state of Texas, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings. Jones racked up 2,638 total yards and 32 touchdowns from scrimmage over the last two seasons at Cy Woods in Cypress, TX.

Jones may not have ideal size to play immediately in College Station but the speed he showcases in his senior season highlight reel is eye-opening. Hard to believe the Aggies won’t be able to find a use for his abilities if he does see the field in the future.
