The 2022 season did not go as planned for Texas A&M. However, Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork assured everyone Jimbo Fisher’s job is still safe per ESPN’s Chris Low.
Last season was the first time that Fisher didn’t make a bowl game in his Aggie tenure. Bjork’s philosophy is building to last as he stated there was no panic at College Station.
“Build to last. That’s my mantra,” said Bjork. “There’s no panic here. You can’t be a blow-by-the-wind program in how you make decisions and expect to win championships in the SEC. Sure, last year was disappointing for all of us, but I look at where we’re headed, and so does Jimbo.”
Texas A&M fans are hoping that last season was a fluke and not something they can expect in 2023.
Texas A&M finished in the bottom half of the SEC in total offensive yards per game. The Aggies ranked 12th in the conference with 360.7 yards per game.
The addition of Bobby Petrino at OC will aim to make the offense run better. Petrino was the HC of Missouri State last season before joining the Aggies in January.
The Aggies take on New Mexico on Sept. 2 in their season opener. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
