Texas A&M bubble watch: Richmond wins A-10, shrinks at-large field by 1
By Andrew Olson

Texas A&M entered Sunday looking to have secured one of the last at-large spots in the 2022 NCAA Tournament. The Aggies’ status isn’t as certain on Sunday afternoon.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi tweeted a bracketology update at 2:21 p.m. ET. At that time, during the second half of the SEC Tournament Championship Game, he had Texas A&M as the next-to-last team in the field of 68. Lunardi noted that an Aggies loss would create an “either/or between A&M and Richmond based on the A-10 championship game.”

Texas A&M lost the conference tournament title game to Tennessee. While it’s widely stated that the NCAA Tournament selection committee does not evaluate games played on Selection Sunday, teams can be bumped based on the number of spots available. Richmond pulled off the A-10 Tournament championship upset over Davidson. The Spiders’ automatic bid takes a spot from an at-large team.

Richmond upsets top-seeded Davidson in the A-10 title game, shrinking the at-large field by one.
Potentially detrimental to the Aggies.

Lunardi’s tweeted update indicates he thinks Texas A&M is out with Richmond in the tournament. On ESPN after the game, Lunardi indicated he’d look at all 4 of the “Last 4 In” teams after Richmond’s win.
Time for a cheeseburger to settle my stomach. Looking at the whole last four…one last time. https://t.co/7BiAShyozE

We’ll find out if the NCAA Tournament selection committee had Texas A&M higher than Lunardi’s projection.
