You wouldn’t imagine an NFL team would be interested in Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin at this particular time, but that’s exactly the case.
According to a tweet by Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Philadelphia Eagles began the process of replacing coach Chip Kelly by reaching out to Sumlin.
However, Sumlin isn’t ready to give up on collegiate football quite yet.

Sumlin’s Aggies finished 8-5 for the second straight season, both of which began with promise. Meanwhile, Texas A&M’s top two quarterbacks both transferred at the conclusion of the regular season.
Kyle Allen announced his decision on Dec. 10, and he’ll be attending Houston. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray followed Allen out the door less than week later and landed at Oklahoma.
However, the team did manage to get graduate transfer Trevor Knight from Oklahoma.
