Demani Richardson recorded 65 tackles and 6.5 tackles for a loss in the Texas A&M secondary in 2021.

The junior was certainly a key figure for the Aggies defense last season, but up until Thursday he had not yet made a decision on a potential return to the program for 2022.

But Aggies fans received good news as Richardson announced on Twitter that he would be back for at least 1 more season. He made the announcement on his Instagram page.

Richardson was an SEC All-Freshman selection in 2019 as he made 71 tackles and an interception in 12 games. During the abbreviated 2020 season, he totaled 36 tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss, but bounced back to become the team’s 3rd-leading tackler a season later.

Along with his 65 tackles, he recorded 3 passes defensed and forced a fumble.
